Summary note
Compendium of Ḥanafī law. According to Kashf al-ẓunūn, it was started by the father of the author and completed by ʻAbd al-Raḥīm at the end of Shaʻbān 651 [1253] in Samarqand (see end of the text).

Incipit: بسم اله الرحمن الرحيم وباسمه يبتدأ كل كتاب ويختم وينثر كل خطاب وينظم وبالصلوة على رسوله ... وبعد فان العلم فخر يبقى على مرور الاحقاب
Explicit: وخطل الخاطر الضعيف الماثر نجزت كتابته فى اواخر شعبان لسنه احدي وخمسين وستمايه هجريه بالمدرسة الميمويه الاميريه الاحليه المعربيه(؟) عماد المله صا الدينيه المبنيه براوال سرووعك احدى محال البلده الفاخره سمرقند لا زالت معموره .. اما بعد فان مسايل هذا الكتاب اعز من الوجوه الحسان واعز من اللالى والمرجان ... وقد كان تولى امر تحرير الكتاب ... الا انه اتفق الاتمام على يدي ابن مولفه جمال المله والدين برهان الائمه فى العالمين تغمده الله تعالى بالرحمة والرضوان واسكنه ... الجنان والله تعالى اعلم بالصواب واليه المرجع والماب
Physical description: 29 lines per page. Written in medium small naskh in black ink with use of red. Light cream paper with laid and chain lines and pulp visible. Marginal annotations. Fol. i and ii are later additions in European paper with watermark. Fol. 1 consists of a leaf of the same paper pasted on the recto of an original folio. Fol. 9 is a later replacement in European paper with watermark. Inscription in Roman script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "32Y" (repeated in red pencil on fol. (i)a).
Origin: Copy completed on Thursday 15 Jumādá al-Ākhirah 858 [June 1454] (colophon, fol. 324a).
Binding note
Dark brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers, with a central blind stamped mandorla and an outer border consisting of two large fillets. Marbled paper pastedowns. The covers are disbound.

[1684-5]) ; ʻAbd al-Karīm ibn Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Sayyid Ḥamzah al-Ḥusaynī al-Ḥanafī ; Muḥammad Abū al-Ṣafā al-muftī bi-Dimashq al-Shām (dated end of Rabīʻ al-Ūlá, 25, 1119 [June 26, 1707] ; Muḥammad ibn Fatḥ ibn ʻAbd al-Wāḥid al-...? al-Ḥanafī (dated 1021 H. [1612-3]) ; Muḥammad Murād ibn Muḥammad al-SQāminī(?) thumma al-Ayyūbī al-Ḥanafī (dated end of Shaʻbān 1143 [March 1731]), etc. Acquired from Abraham Shalom Yahuda, 1942.
