Collection Creator Biography:

Princeton AlumniCorps.

Princeton AlumniCorps is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization that was created in 1989 by the Princeton Class of 1955. Originally named Princeton Project 55, Ralph Nader '55 and Charlie Bray '55 were instrumental in the group's founding and development. The name change occurred in May of 2010 to more accurately the fact the organization is open to college alumni from all classes.

The organization's purpose is to promote civic engagement in the public interest among Princeton alumni. Princeton AlumniCorps engages alumni in public service initiatives through year-long fellowships in public service organizations, mentoring placements, and campus collaboration intended to elevate awareness of civic engagement among current undergraduate students. Major initiatives of the Princeton AlumniCorps have included the Public Interest Progam (now named the Princeton Project 55 Fellowship Program), the Character Education Partnership (now a separate entity), and the Tuberculosis Initiative.
