Abstract

The collection consists of set decorator Jessica Lanier's set photographs for several of Woody Allen's films, including Sweet and Lowdown (1999), Small Time Crooks (2000), and The Curse of the Jade Scorpion (2001), as well as her copies of shooting scripts and revisions. Photographs consist of contemporary color prints and Polaroids, as well as some negatives.

Scope and Contents

The collection consists of set decorator Jessica Lanier's set photographs for several of Woody Allen's films from 1999 to 2001, including Sweet and Lowdown (1999), Small Time Crooks (2000), and The Curse of the Jade Scorpion (2001), all of which were shot in various locations across New Jersey and New York. Also present are her copies of the shooting scripts and revisions for Small Time Crooks and The Curse of the Jade Scorpion.

Photographs primarily consist of contemporary color prints and Polaroids, as well as some 35mm film negatives. Shooting scripts, script revisions, and documents regarding the photographs' use are also sometimes included, as are keys that explain the set codes, set names, locations, and scene numbers. Photographs were removed from large binders, and their original organization by scene number was preserved.

Lanier, Jessica

Jessica Lanier is a set decorator who has worked on many feature films since 1991. She was the set decorator for three of Woody Allen's films between 1998 and 2001, including Sweet and Lowdown, Small Time Crooks, and The Curse of the Jade Scorpion. Lanier holds degrees from Bard Graduate Center: Decorative Arts, Design History, Material Culture and teaches at Salem State University.
